FCC Spills Details on 3G Clamshell for T-Mobile

1700/2100 WCDMA

This phone lists both 1700/2100. Am I wrong in assuming that the 2100 is for International 3G coverage? I guess my main question is, I've seen that TMob is launching 3G domestically on 1700, are they using 2100 domestically as well?

WCDMA 1700 is a paired band. One part uses the 1700 for uplink while the other part uses the 2100 for downlink. The overseas 2100MHz band is 1900 uplink while being 2100 downlink. Meaning one band helps the phone send to the tower, while the other band goes from tower to phone. So, no the overseas 3G 2100 band will not work here.
