The article reads

"Users can capture a picture of any TEXT with their camera phone and send the picture as a picture message to m@thrrum.com."

What would be an example of when you would use this?

say you are at the grocery store and for some reason your wanted to google "sharmen quilted ultra" that would take a very long time to tripple tap on your phone. this way you jusrt snap a pic of the product send it in and they send you back the serch resultes. practicle? not sure time will tell.

Wouldn't it take longer to open up the camera, take a pic, compose an outbound MMS to them, send the pic, then wait for a response. You could Google it much faster you would think, right?

I would use it search for something I didn't know about.

For instance, I was behind a van on my way home yesterday and I saw two decals on the back that I didn't know what they meant. They were white decals on the window of what looks like a samurai w/ an axe in its hand. They had a sleek anime-ish look.

I still don't know what that decal represents, I've been seeing it quite often recently, anyhow that would be a perfect example.

for some yes, others no. sprint phone have a dedicated camera button 1 button to open camera 1 button to take pic 1 button to sent. 1-3 buttons to find contact. 1 button to compleate message.5-7 buttons total.

1 button to open web. 1-3 buttons to got serch page. 1 or more button to scrole to serch field. at least 1 button for each letter you tyle. lets asume you are serching a 4 5 letter word. you will have to hit over 9 butons and posably more then 20.

if you are a fast t9 person with a bizillion contacts in your phone. serching is probubly faster. for people who rarely serch or weho are agonizeing to watch on multi tap. pic serch way faster.
