Rough Review & High Hopes

Wow! Simply put. This was a rather big disappointing review. I too had high hopes for this phone. I wanted to upgrade my wife to it. She doesn't have "100's" of twitter and facebook contacts but this also means it could be a problem if/when it reaches that amount.

The calling and battery are the biggest issue for me here because she uses her phone every single day for all sorts of things. Recently its been a lot of GPS and Mapquest. She does do a lot of Facebook now more then Myspace and she does tons of YouTube. With the current battery issue she wouldn't make it through the day based on this review. The calling issue is simply, not acceptable on any level. This is, in the end, a cellphone. What good is such a device labeled as "cellphon...

You might wanna check out other reviews for a more well-rounded conclusion. Not to put down Phonescoop's review, but not everyone has the same experience. CNET's review, for example, has a brighter outlook on the Cliq.

Most reviews have been rough the same thus far. I have not gone to Cnet yet but I will tonight. For now, here is TmoNews.com's summary;

"The preorder date is just around the corner, and the first batch of in depth reviews, of the T-Mobile bound Motorola Cliq, are rolling in. A quick run down would be that Blur looks good, but the battery life in the Cliq is very poor as a product of Blur, if you happen to have a bunch of friends updating their statuses (ironic). Overall, the phone seems to be fairing, well, so so, with some positives and negatives. Notable pluses include the slide out qwerty (which is always a plus), MotoBlur (sure, some quirks, but overall amazing) and a capable (okay, downright loud) speaker and vibrator mechanism. ...

Well rounded? This review isn't well rounded?

You obviously didn't read the written portion or watch the video. It's about as well rounded as they get.

I don't think this is a well rounded Review. It seems very bias. As if, he was let down so much, he turned against it. Plenty of good facts tossed in with his personal opinions.

Don't get me wrong, its a decent review. It just seems, very rough. Other reviewers around the net were not as rough on the phone and provided equally as many facts.

And just to add, he was right. bleu_tropix i mean. Check out Cnet's review when you get a chance. A lot less bias with just about the same facts. Even the Cnet opinions are not as rough and get the same points across.

In any-case, you shouldn't make a choice based on one review anyway. Lets hope things get better for the Cliq real soon.
