Why would AT&T get this this year, when this will compete with the iphone 2. Heck, this might have better specs than the iphone 2, since it has a 5MP camera and other features. yes, it may have WM6.1, but its still has other nice features. I don't think AT&T and Apple would put a smartphone on board to combat one another in features and specs.

Why should AT&T care if people buy this or the iPhone2 as long as they're getting service from AT&T?

And yeah, this announcement seriously puts a crimp in Sprint's imminent release of the Instinct.

Why wouldnt AT&T releast it? Why'd they release the Vu?

Why wouldn't they release a phone that would net them more money than an iPhone since Apple doesnt make a cut from the voiceplaces of a samsung phone 😛

It WILL be interesting to see how the position all these phones though. In addition to the iPhone2 and this Samsung, they're also likely to get the Sony Ericsson Xperia. And who knows what else...

Well, i guess it makes me happy to shock all of you, but i can confirm that AT&T will indeed be picking up the SGH-i907 for a fact. I accidently stumbled across it about a month ago while looking at the inventory of the stores in my district, and when i saw the model number, and it didn't ring a bell, i started to investigate and all i could find was info on the i900 and even the i908, that was untill a couple days ago on the 6th when they got FCC approval and phonescoop posted it. In my best guess, i'd say no later than end of summer if not sooner considering that although information was very challanging to find untill recently, i can tell you that after finding the SKU in our inventory, there was also a cost on the phone as well as an act...

Just cause a phone is on AT&Ts inventory list doesn't mean its going to be sold. If the iphone 2 does good, I think AT&t won't sell the i907 until early next year.

Why are you so convinced that AT&T's number one concern is to squeeze out a few more iPhone sales for Apple by postponing a competing device's launch? If anything, AT&T will want this out there sooner because Samsung won't be netting any of the customer's revenue like Apple's agreement with AT&T. Just think about it.

Why wouldn't AT&T sell the i907? iPhone is stricktly for all Core stores, Authorized agents are not allowed to sell the iPhone, meaning that although the phone is available it's limited certain locations. Outside agents make money for AT&T too, now it looks like they're going to get opportunity to sell phone that competes with the iphone. I predict big numbers for this model

Then I think you will need to have your physican call in a RX for Xanax because they are getting it.

Is that heavy sarcasm, Jay? Because if it isn't, I'm utterly confused. I think we all should be marking AT&T's addition of the Xperia to it's lineup later this year or early next year as a done deal.

Think about AT&T's bottom line...because that's all they're thinking about, too. 😉

You had better believe that AT&T doesn't give a damn about whether or not this will compete with the iPhone. It nets them business either way.

Ruff,
Exactly and to be fair, AT&T should be selling phones which is in the best interest of themselves and their customers, not Apple.
