Sad to say this is wrong, as of January 22nd, we are watching everyone that uses over 5gb of data, there is no charge for data usage after 5gb.

The AT&T web site says that the $60 per month plan includes 5GB per data. We didn't say that AT&T charges for going over that amount.

But, as usual, you fail to add pertitnent information to distinguish between the subjects in the article. You lumped both AT&T and Verizon in with Sprint right after you stated Sprint charges for overage. Obviously you knew AT&T did not charge for overage and people could misunderstand your report.

Another instance where taking a little extra time to get it right would make your reporting more accurate and definately more credible.

obviously.. ?

"AT&T Mobility and Verizon Wireless currently offer 5GB data plans, also"

I don't see anything stating ATT charges.
Learn2Read

btw this is from ATT's CURRENT TOS

PDA/BlackBerry plans with Tethering may be used to tether such PDA and BlackBerry devices to a Personal Computer. The parties agree that AT&T has the right to impose additional charges if you use more than 5 GB in a month. Prior to the imposition of any additional charges, AT&T shall provide you with notice and you shall have the right to terminate your service.

DataConnect plans may ONLY be used with AT&T-certified LaptopConnect (PC Data) Cards and eligible AT&T-certified customer owned and maintained (COAM) devices for the following purposes: ...

Would have been a good idea for him to report some additional facts about AT&T and Verizon before he lumped them in with Sprint, eh?

Did you read anything that was in jmk's post?? i dont think you did because you just posted the same thing you did before, and the TOS clearly stated above that there may be a charge with at&t for going over the 5gb,,, I think you need to learn some reading skills and then come back and post something worthwhile. ๐Ÿ˜

Sorry if you do not agree with my assessment of the editorial content being reported on this site. I, as do others, believe the "reporters" for this site lack significant journalism skills. They consistently get stuff wrong even though they have the resources and ability to get it right.

There may have been some cases where what you are stating is correct, but in this case i think the quote above speaks for itself... once again i reitterate READ all of the facts yourself before you post. If you actually take the time to read the TOS, specifically what is quoted above, you will realize that you are fighting a losing battle with the point that you are making on this article. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Sprint's updated TOS just basically says the exact same thing as ATT - they RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHARGE IF YOU EXCEED 5GB OR 300MB ROAMING - they havent redefined their plans, so this all may just be alot to do about nothing in the end, and alot of bad spin on otherwise non newsworthy events at Sprint. ๐Ÿคจ

The article sure made it seem like you would be charged if you went over on your data allotment.

I agree. I have a friend who actually plays WoW using their aircard and still doesn't use up 5GB in a month. This should, in reality, only affect about 1% of all wireless broadband users according to industry numbers.

Not entirely wrong. AT&T has a soft cap of 5GB. They don't charge for going over... yet, but they reserve the right to do so.
