The definition of "Exclusive"

Exclusive phone (exception being iPhone): A carrier may be an exclusive carrier for upto 60 days on a particular handset. Said handset can then be released by all carriers after said exclusive period.

To clarify the point of this statement, and to enlighten the fanboys of the world, EVERY carrier will have this phone. Att, Sprint, Tmobile, and of course Verizon have already signed on to carry the phone. The exclusive is going to be launched with Verizon, yes, but everyone will have the handset in their stable.

If you seriously cant wait 60 days to get this phone you have 2 major issues in my eyes:

1) You are a spoiled brat.

2) You are unwilling to let someone else get the phone and work the bugs out for you. This is also known a...

Perhaps if you read the original Boy Genius report, http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/05/13/bla ckberry-thunder-the-touchscreen-blackberry-we ve-all-been-waiting-for/ you will read that he is reporting a lifetime exclusivity, now this is not set in stone of course, by Boy Genius has a pretty good reputation for getting these things correct. Maybe instead of launching into a tirade about how everyone will have it you should check out the original report instead of relying on phonescoop's small blurb on the subject. 🤨

And yes, I did notice the sales quota clause so like I said, the exclusivity is not set in stone, but there is no indication that this will "for sure" launch with anyone else.

This phone will surpass that quota by several thousand, no doubt about it. This thing will be amazing.

Do you think ANY of the carriers are interested in letting another iPhone fiasco happen? Do you think that ANY of the carriers are interested in losing a possible revenue stream?

So what is likely going to happen is that the phone that everyone will carry will be the 'Lightning' (just a made up name). It will be full touch screen, have a model number of 9400 or 9600 and not have a potential LTE chip in it. RIM would be stupid as well as all the carriers to not spread the love. Part of the reason RIM is still number 1 in smartphones is due to the fact that the iPhone is ONLY ATT. I dont think RIM wants to make this same mistake.
