... will probably make it sound like the "Thunder" is old technology or the "Bold" is 10 times better.

Begin the bashing fanboys, begin.

No, but I am kinda jealous that VZW gets this and AT&T does not.
BTW, the BOLD is a Moto Q clone by the looks of it. We need to keep the Curve away from the Q, or else more offspring like this will occur. 😉

Hey ... a Blackberry OS on the Moto Q? I'll take that ANY DAY. Windows OS on the Moto Q blows.

It's not Windows' fault that the CDMA Q sucks!

Besides looking mildly similar to the moto Q, the BOLD is going to be way better. people stop comparing the Q to bold.

If i am not mistaken...the Moto Q was developed to be a direct competitor with BlackBerry, which why it has that side scroll wheel and the similar look as the BlackBerry...so for you guys to say that the Bold is a knock off of the Q doesn't real make sense because the Q is originally a knock off of the BlackBerry...

Its threads like these, that help initiate such "fanboy" comments. Way to help the cause...btw, this sounds like an awesome phone and I own a few AT&T authorized retailer locations. No need to bash a phone/carrier just because a certain carrier has exclusivity agreements.

He's not bashing the phones...he's bashing fanboy's!

And he's right--att fanboys will begin the hating as soon as the first screen shots are released. As a loyal verizon customer, it does get frustrating waiting for phones like the curve. So getting this device first will be a welcome change of pace.

It's not about even bashing. From what I read from other sites, the Thunder might be a touch screened Bold with few updates. Nothing to revolutionary since the OS is still gonna be the same, 4.6

I was just reporting what I read, so while it's a good look for Verizon,it won't be something to be jealous about like some others are saying.

Difference is RIM is far easier to deal with then Apple. Basically RIM gets its cut, some standards are maintained on the RIM side, some modifications for the carrier and the phone is released.

And yes this seems like a damned nice phone, no matter the carrier. (not an insult or slick remark just saying this is nice.)

What also makes it easier is the fact that VZW has previous agreements with RIM. So they already have a foundation to work with, or simply use the existing agreement for the Thunder.

Isn't exclusivity a bit different from before though?

I wonder if Voda had a hand in that.

personally i really dont care about touch screen devices. as nice as the iPhone looks, i don't want one. if i was given one i would probably sell it. idon't like getting crap on my screen as it is(prints, grease, etc.). i am looking forward to the Bold. i can't imagine a blackberry without a keyboard (assuming the thunder will be sans) it would cut down on typing time considerably IMO.

well that's why the offer protection screens for devices like these (I have one for my Glyde, which I will be exchanging for an env2).

But you are right ... I am quite curious about how the touch screen will work with the always-have-until-now conservative Blackberry.

I have to agree. Going full touchscreen takes away any reasoning of going with a blackberry. I'm thinking they will have better luck and appeal to the avid users with the hybrid rather than the full touchscreen.

you also have to realize that they might be going for a new audience. Blackberry has been pushing hard to get into the consumer market and this phone will help them make a big push. It's not like all of their phones will be touch screen.

The key to success is a good variety of options--BB is becoming more diverse and I think thats a great idea!

I couldnt agree more.

Im excited to have the BB Thunder coming to my favorite carrier but I wont buy it. I cant use all touchscreen phones I find myself pist off because theres no keyboard.

They're just appealing to the iphone crowd. They will not find a market with traditional business users, but that's OK.
