Microsoft Targets Poor with Fone+

If you look into how the Bill Gates foundation works, he usually doesn't just give food to poor countries. Those charities often have their donations funneled into the hands of corrupt officials. The governments have to be stable, and often have to match his donations either financially or through other means; for instance if he were to donate smartphones, the country receiving them would have to invest in network. Also, the citizens would have to be able to feed themselves by using the phones for legitimate reasons.

It's not going to work for everyone, but I think there will be people that can benefit.
