O.K. let's take a cellular company that has won the JD Power & Associates award numerous times for customer satisfaction (T-Mobile). Not to mention as far as US cellular carriers they have some of the if not the cheapest international roaming fees. And combine them with the 2nd biggest CDMA carrier (Sprint). It's a match made in heaven. You've got T-Mobile...enough said. And Sprint who's got QChat coming out (Due to the FCC complaining about interference from iDen) some very cool phones, plus a huge footprint within the US. I always root for the little guy, so Verzion look the hell out!

Well, will the NASCAR circuit be called the T-Mobile cup?

Of course not. But NASCAR/Sprint...that's what makes a merger with T-Mobile all the more sweeter. A cellular company from across the pond sponsors a great American past time. Verizon sponsors what car?

Verizon puts there money in there network as everyone can tell not in a bunch of crazy sponsors like nascar. If sprint had put more money in there network they wouldnt be in the place to have to be bought out and merged with a sucky company like Tmobile

Is NUMEROUS awards by J.D. Power and Associates crappy? Look 'em up, it's MUCH MUCH more than just customer service too.

Think before you speak.

J.D. Power and Associates? Does that really mean anything. In order to be put on their list you need to pay them money. Its kinda like the oscar's or the grammy's. It all depends on who's palm you grease.

Not for nothing people, but while its been a few years now, Sprint has also received "NUMEROUS" awards from JD Power, including best customer service at one point, as have other carriers, so don't just go running around with these CRAPPY, BOUGHT awards like a flag of pride when T-Mobile isnt the first to buy or receive one, or even many. Normally I would post supporting links, but there are many, from 2000 to 2005 (like i said, a few years) so search them up yourselves.

I'm no NASCAR fan but NASCAR is the biggest and most profitable sport in the U.S. and there are many many many figures (as far as number of fans AND revenue from both television) to prove that.

Funny story...NOT! I currently have AT&T. Started out with the Moto Z9, I wanted to surf the web & message as far as the Z9 could...great. In the mean time I pick up an Moto Q9h off E-Bay, pop my 3G SIM card in and I'm off surfing the net and everything, life is good. So I figure I'm within my 30 day trial I'll turn in my Z9 for a Tilt, witch I do. Unannounced to the AT&T clerk I've been using the Q9h for a week or so without a hitch. So she says to me your getting the HTC Tilt we'll have to tack on an additional $15/Month for smartphone internet access. Really, why? I ask. Because data usage is on another frequency. I think to myself, "You mean like the 3G I've been using just fine for the past week with the Q9h minus the $15!"
So you see ...

T-mobile has the cheapest voice and data plans. But no where near the 3g coverage as even ATT and their 3G coverage sucks. I say make me CEO of Sprint and I will have Sprint the number 1 company within 5 years.

Well everyone knows TMO's 3G isn't great. They just started it yesterday... No one but a hater would expect it to be any good.

A year from now will be a different story.

Plus, that is why they are looking at Sprint. To gain enough spectrum to expand their 3g.

A year from now? By then Sprint will have started to roll out 4G. T-mobile is way outdated.

Well a lot of it has to do where the carriers operate. AT&T can operate in one area and not Verizon. And vice-versa. That has an impact on the numbers as well as mergers. How many companies has AT&T bought out? A ton! Verizon, not as many. The only reason AT&T got so big in the first place was because of the merger with AT&T Wireless and Cingular. Then they just started gobbling up more and more carriers. But look at all the reports that show AT&T near the bottom of network quality. So obviously some people have AT&T because of the carrier they had before or because nothing else better is available.

Verizon Wireless set the precedent for mega-mergers. The company itself is an amalgamation of four independent corporations (Bell Atlantic, Airtouch, GTE and PrimeCo) merging and rebranding back in 1999. AT&T is just the most recent company to do so. Don't make it out like AT&T is the only company that has used mergers and buyouts to claw their way to the top.

It's standard practice in the telecom industry, and it will continue to be so.

AT&T is large because of their whole business operation, and not just because of their mergers with AT&T Wireless and Cingular.

AT&T can get you everything for your home, along with wireless service. They provide landlines, high speed internet, and now they're wiring all the neighborhoods for U-Verse - digital TV over the phone line.

They've been buying up all the baby bells, and now their huge again in that aspect as well. I think that AT&T will only get larger because they're not just involved with wireless service.

ATT was less than half thier size before the merger of Att and Cingular, way befind Verizon. Also Uverse sucks, they dont run fiber all the way to your house like Verizon'...

We'll see how much AT&T's digital television sucks when they continue to grow and grow their market share.
Uverse doesn't suck. I know some people that have it, and it sure as hell is cheaper than the cable companies around here.
I'm a mailman, and I have seen their new boxes popping up everywhere as they continue to wire more and more neighborhoods for Uverse.
It's only a matter of time.

I don't think it would be in Sprint's or T-Mo's best interest to merge. Just because T-Mo has the CS Dept. covered doesn't mean that it will work. Look at what happened to the merger with Nextel; Sprint was at the time one of the largest all digital network carriers as well as the first with 3G out the door (I don't think in all major markets though, but most), and Nextel had the lowest churn in the industry as well as great CS (YMMV of course) and the two f****ed it all up, now they have one of the highest churn rates in the industry (highest among the top five carriers), and crap for Customer Service, but they do have a great overall network and cheap prices. What good is all that if you can't keep customers? Would taking a gamble with Sp...

acutally, the merger bust was a result due to bad planning by the head guys. if you're a sprint customer you probably have noticed that they are starting to fix most of their little bugs and problems. the new guys on top are trying to stop all of the money that is bleeding out of the company. they knew that with the merger they would lose alot of customers which they did. now that the dam has been closed they can start working on CS and rebuilding a better system. trust me i saw the difference from day one to now. if you threaten to leave they will just say have a nice day and let you leave but not without trying to find out whats the problem. they wont give away things anymore like they used to or give someone a year of free service but the...
