wow i wish the big 4 would do that...

that way we would have crazy competition and even more freedom. idk who the hell cellular south is because im from chicago but still. they must be smart people for offering such an incentive to switch.

i work for at&t down here and they are the only company us sales people worry about. they have better plans and better coverage. verizon uses them as a roaming partner.

Are you sure Verizon uses them as a roaming partner? VZW and ATT phones typically use different radio frequencies and don't roam off each other's towers. Alltel is VZW's usual rural roaming partner.

He meant Cellular South was VZW's roaming partner, not ATT

Yep, VZW uses CS to roam on. Alltel is also available, but the PRL is set to prefer CS when it's available. Good thing too. When I had VZW and was roaming in the Delta, I roamed on CS. A couple of times, when I think CS may have had a few brief outages, my phone switched to Alltel, and coverage was awful. I don't think they've done much to build out the old CenturyTel network they got a few years ago.
