30 bucks is still too much for casual web browsing and personal email!

Then don't use a PDA phone. Or use the i760 or 6800 with the wifi connection.

For casual usage, yes. Out of curiousity, what is a "fair" price? Most carriers have their high-end data packages priced at around $25-50 above basic voice, so $30 seems reasonable if you're going to take advantage of it.

I suspect that the problem most people have with these plans is that there's often no "casual" option. If you have a PDA phone, you're required to add on another $30 to your phone bill. Period.

I used 28 Mb my first month with my PDA phone... and haven't topped 3 Mb since. Yet I'm required to pay $40/month for unlimited internet simply because I have a PDA phone.

Why isn't there a $10/month plan that only gives you 5 Mb? That would be a much better fit for me, and probably for a lot of people.

you still have the $24.99-29.99 option for 10 mb

or you can take the data off completely. If you only use 3mb you probably aren't using it that much anyways so it's probably not even worth that much anyway.

Not really an option... the per kilobyte charges are ridiculous, so even though I don't use that much data it's still far cheaper to buy the unlimited plan than to pay per kilobyte.

I'll have to check again, but the last time I looked there was no other option. It was unlimited or nothing. But that might have changed... and if it did I'll be downgrading.

if you switch to a nationwide plan, its only $1.99/mb.... so if you only use 3mb its about $6 plus tax. not such a bad option for the casual user

If your "casual" then wtf would you need a PDA phone for?

Think things through before you start up your Carrier Bashing posts.

No Brown27 ... you're paying for it - perhaps indirectly. I mean these service providers that you are using must pay their overhead somehow. You think these guys provide you with service out of charity and kindness?
