It really should help a lot, but I believe anyone on GSM was probably more than likely going to go this route anyways.

The fact that Sprint is going with WiMax means nothing... by 2010 Sprint will probably be bankrupt anyways. Lol, stupid sprint... oh well.

Either way, I'm really glad that Verizon has chosen this, thats a big step in the right direction, and AT&T made the right (though obvious for them) choice as well. Now we just need T-Mobile to announce what they will go with... lol If they can ever even get 3G going lol.

Dont be silly. 43 million people paying on average $40/month. $1,720,000,000 in monthly recurring charges (that's one billion).

But it would be nice to have them all use LTE for the sake of having a TRUE nationwide data package. They could all work together to have all urban AND rural markets covered by 4G...

You're glad about Verizon. That's nice. I wonder if Sprint is carrying about 31.1 billion dollars in debt like Verizon is??

I wonder if VZW if losing customers like it's going out of style like Sprint... oh wait, they're not.

Btw, that debt you refer to is the debt solely of Verizon Communications, Verizon Wireless (you know, the one that does cell phones, not land lines and is a privately owned company) has no such debt.

To answer your question...

March 7, 2008

When Sprint and Nextel merged, the company had a $70 billion market cap. Today, it has a market cap of about $20 billion, plus about $20 billion in net debt.

Sad numbers for sure, but as you can see theyre not as deep in as Verizon... Which by the way, as of July 19, 2007 $12 billion of that $31b belonged solely to VZW!

theres your supporting article for that one...

Bankrupt? I guess not. They even managed to lose $29 billion last year plus lawsuit's from left and right and they're still breathing. $29 billion that's worth another network.
