Now if they could just get rid of the ugly and buggy user interface that cripples the phones and makes them FUBAR 🤣

The user interface isn't what "cripples" the phones. Also, VZW's "buggy" user interface has never caused me any issues, and I really don't see how you can consider it to be "ugly" or anything. It's a nice, simplistic interface, designed to make the transition to newer devices easier anyone who is intimidated by learning a new interface. Grow up.

Or... *GASP* he could actually be 100% correct in that the UI itself does not "cripple" the phone. VZW could leave the manufactured UI on there and still cripple phones if they wanted to, so it's retarded to blame the what few VZW phones that are still "crippled" on the VZW UI.

That's called being objective btw, it required no VZW kool-aid to process that thought.

You really have no cluse about the masses want. I can testify that no less than 90% of the customers I deal with every day LOVE the idea that the UI is the same no matter what phone you choose to upgrade too. People want simple and easy to learn. For most people learning a new UI is not fun, it is a hassle.

I do understand that some people think that learning a new phones UI is a fun challenge, what you have to realize is that is a very samll percentage of the people in the market.

I for one am very technical savy and still think it is a pain in the a** to learn a new phone UI. I love the standard UI of VZW and wish that all PDA's would have a standard UI that is similar to a Blackberry. In my expereince no PDA is easier to use...

elgee02 hit the nail right on the head. The UI is simply a layer between the underlying operating sytem and the person using it. You could just as easily remove a menu option from the manufacturers' normal UI's to achieve the same effect.

I'm not saying that it isn't limited, but it certainly isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. I really miss my E815's interface, though.

Would I be correct in assuming that the level of thought put into your comment is indicative of the level of thought that you put into anything else?

Brown27 is just being ... Brown27.

Subjectively = I hate it. But the flash UIs is a sigh of relief from the traditional VZW/LG ones. I'm all about total customization.

Objectively = it's a good thing for the masses. When I was with VZW, one of my biggest selling points was showing customers that the UI is the same amongst all phones and they LOVED it. Less learning curve for them, the better for them, and more money in my pocket.

The Motorola E815 is badass ... everything about it. the reception, the UI ... everything.

The U.I sucks like a hoover. I've gone through 18 of vzw's cheap handsets in 3 months. most of them would have screens that would flash black and come back over and over and they reboot while you text message. 18!! no this isn't an exaggeration it's the truth. I'm not talking out of my *ss, I'm talkin from experience. That stupid software is designed to cripple the phones so that the user is unable to alter anything on the phone and make it as difficult as possible to add his/her own ring tones. Hence why I call it "pay us now" software. Yea I love the proprietary software of Motorola's and LG and Blackberry etc etc. So obviously it's clear that you're backing up the wrong horse my friends. Open handsets with uncrippled U.I's is the wave of ...

hey ... from an investor stand point ... what VZW is doing definitely aint broke. that's for sure. why fix it if its obviously working for them?
