Because it has basically the same features as an iphone but also has better. Its going to be using rev a, which means counting on the area its possible to get broadband speeds. Not only that but the phone is going to have all the sprint extras like, sprint tv, sprint radio, sprint navigation and radio. Another big thing is the price, they are saying that it will probably be in the 200's. My guess probably 250 or 299, but still cheaper than an iphone. Cant wait for june to get this phone.

On paper, yes, but digging a little deeper you'll see a world of difference. They both have a web browser, but only the iPhone's offers pinch-zooming, browsing in landscape AND portrait mode, and support of embedded media (anything Quicktime can play.)

Sprint TV and Sprint Radio are a joke. You mean to tell me this crummy gruel of content that I must pay a monthly fee for compares to say, Youtube? I'd rather have Youtube.

Sprint may have "broadband" speeds, but:
1) Their "broadband" coverage is still lacking in many parts of the country

2) The iPhone's fast rendering engine renders pages FASTER in many cases than Sprint's entire smartphone lineup (se...

Why would someone choose the Instinct over the iPhone? Maybe because the Instinct offers everything that the iPhone doesn't, besides pinch-zooming, and some. The iPhone can't send picture messages, use GPS, and you can't use an external memory card on it. Oh and another thing, we will offer insurance on the Instinct! 😛

Just because the specs are nice doesn't mean it will automatically beat the iPhone. Personally, I don't think it will, but time will tell. I'm sure there are alot more Apple die hard fans out there than there are Samsung die hard fans. Dont get me wrong I think its a cool phone thats gonna be the iPhone's closest competitor, but I think Mr. Hesse should spend the $100 million dollars on revamping customer service...

What Sprint needs is to put $$$$$ around marketing the **** outta this phone,

that's the only thing that will make this thing take off.

I tested a beta of this and I'm sorry fellas but it doesn't even come close to an iphone (disclosure: i do not own an iphone nor am i an apple fanboy, i don't even own an ipod but i have tested an iphone)... The browser is terrible, the touch can be somewhat unresponsive (maybe it just delayed/stuck often cause of a slow processor), the gps worked, the UI is bland and boring... But hey, you don't have to take my word for it! Maybe since I used it a few weeks earlier it was just too beta ;p

Yes, its because it was a beta phone... even in phonescoops comment they said it had a lot of faults because it was the beta phone prob.
