OK, so they had the Pearl 1, which differed quite a bit from the CDMA Pearl 2 release, so when you say it remains unchanged from the 8800 series (Pearls thus far have been 8100s), is it the same Pearl that they had plus WiFi, or is it the Pearl 2 plus wifi and the GPS feature that had already been there that they declined the first time around?

You just answered your own question. The Pearl, as you know is the 8100 series. The article says 8820, which has nothing to do with the Pearl series or the newer Curve series (which is 8300). The 8800 is just like the Curve series however only you're missing a camera.

So then either this was a typo, or youre telling me RIM went out of their way to release the 8120 with the same specs for ATT, and then went back and made the same phone without a camera(???) and called it the 8800 series? Maybe is should have just asked Eric directly.

No, the 8800 series has been out for awhile, it is more of a business phone wit no camera cause some companies dnt let camera phones into there buildings. PLus the 8800 series has full keyboad unlike the 8100 series phones which are built for for the average consumer

Had there been a picture of the phone with the annoncement it would have been alot clearer, but i'm more than willing to admit that I was slow in seeing the big picture. Thanks for all the love and negativity.
