Microsoft might be a possibility for purchasing Motorola. But Google for sure wants nothing to do with being a carrier. And I doubt that they actually want to get into manufacturing handsets either.

What's in it for them? Their business model is to get as much advertising in front of people's eyes as possible. Sure, being a carrier can help them with that cause but do you really think they want to deal with the tens of thousands of customer complaints they'd be getting on a daily basis?

Because Microsoft understands the business model of selling a product, it's not out of the question that they might be interested in Motorola. However, considering that NOBODY stepped up with an offer for the Handset Division when it was being offered recently, it looks like Moto might be in trouble.

Sprint is definitely in trouble. The cellular carrier business model is a dying one, it's just that most of the carriers are fighting tooth and nail to remain relevant. That's just not going to happen.
