It costs just as much, and costs MORE per month if you want any of the functionality.

This is a phone for stupid people.

Unlimited internet + texting for the EnVTouch ($30 a month)

Unlimited internet + texting for a BB ($50 a month)

Unlimited internet (no texting) for EnVtouch ($20 with email)

Unlimited internet (no texting) for BB ($30 with email)

Applications and IM? On a Blackberry you don't need unlimited texting as you have IM and, of course, push Email... with better attachment support.

Plus $30.00/month is a lot to blow for the crappy internet experience on the EnV Touch.

it is 20 a month on the envtouch (10 if you already have texting) This gives you unlimited data and mobile email... and why you wouldn't have a texting plan with this phone escapes me.

And not everyone uses IM, so if you were talking to your friends on the phone, you need a texting plan.

The touch is one of the only phones to offer embedded flash support, and includes several other features previously unavailable to non-smartphone users.

The touch isn't for everyone, it's not claiming to be. It is also not a smartphone. It is a "dumbphone" with an upgraded browser and some other features that a customer can choose to take advantage of if they wish.

If a customer is going to use their phone for heavy browsing, I will ALWAYS ...

What do you mean by Lame UI? I do not see any ugly rainbow colors, in a 5 tab order.

The Video review doesn't show all its features. Screen looks great because its running 800x480, compared to last phone's 400x240. That's 480p widescreen! Not even an iPhone has that!

I wanted to see if the browser has Flash Lite like on the Versa.

Slide Up to unlock > Touch to unlock

Not everyone wants only touch screen, and this is where the enV Touch wins. Messaging like a messaging phone, touchscreen like a touchscreen phone. And it's not bulky like the Voyager was.

This phone is now the #1 selling phone at VZW by a huge margin.

Perfect for those who want a nice touchscreen phone with a solid camera but dont want to be forced into a data plan or want a cheaper data plan than those found on a bberry/PDA.

Why the hell would you buy a touchscreen phone (especially one with one as crappy as these phones) and NOT get a data plan? The price of data access without one is criminal on these phones!

I don't get it, who blows $150.00 - $200.00 on a knockoff iPhone and then only uses it to make calls? It's not like these things have a decent music player even WiFi.

Just because a phone has a touchscreen doesn't mean it is an iphone "knockoff." If you want to compare this to a phone on apple's network, you are looking at the touchscreen phones LG makes for them as well. if you want to compare an iphone to a phone on verizon's network, you are looking at smartphones because they also require a data plan. And unlike the iphone, most of the smartphones we offer are famous for their call quality and network connectivity.

The phone makes great phone calls (unlike the iphone btw) has a full keyboard and threaded messaging for texting. It also has a touch phone (something a lot of kids want, and their parents don't want to pay 30 a month for a storm/omnia/iphone whatever) If the kid does want to surf th...

I agree that a phone like this or especially a PDA is pointless without a data plan, but to each their own.

But at least the data plan on this is half the price of a bberry/PDA data plan.

What kind of a UI should it have used? I am always confused by this comment because the EnV Touch is not a smartphone so for this phone to run Windows Mobile would be a mess.
