You don't even know what 3G means buddy! US Cellular has had a 3G network for several years now! It's at 1X speed the same speed Sprint's was when they launched their 3G network in 2002. They don't have EVDO (broadband) yet but neither did Sprint until late 2005. Sprint DOES NOT have broadband in all the areas they serve. Most areas are still at the slower 1X speed the same as other national carriers who have recently upgraded to broadband. I have US Cellular and can't wait for them to one day convert their network to EVDO and beyond!

Correction, you don't know what 3g means. 1X is 2.5G technology and doesn't qualify as 3G. EVDO revO and revA are 3G.

I work for Sprint and you have a point. If EVDO is concidered 3G then there is no way 1XRTT even compares. 1X at the most runs 1/5 the speed of EVDO.

Exactly. 1XRTT is considered '2.5G' and in no technical standard is considered 3G. That confusion is common as the terminology is misused. Are you sure US Cellular isn't running EVDO anywhere? I was roaming EVDO in Nebraska and could have sworn it was US Cell when I checked it.
