well its not necessarily cust care... its more the consumer convinced we are gonna give him 10 free frickin phones for being a prick (i mean, valued customer) and we dont roll that way... everyone tries to say that other carriers will give them free stuff which is crap... every company functions the same... one simple word... profit...

See, the problem is two fold.

1) Care has blown for so long that its become the accepted behavior, which takes much more effort to fix than it does to get to the "sucks with teeth" stage in the first place

2) Some reps refuse to admit there is a problem, and think theyre "doing great".. see problem one up there ^^^^^^

I can definitely agree with this. I left Sprint almost three years ago and joined T-Mobile. The first time I called customer care I was SHOCKED. I was on hold for less than 30 seconds, the rep was helpful and non-combative and my issue was resolved in just a couple of minutes. I couldn't believe it. I had gotten so accustomed to the issues I dealt with when calling Sprint customer care that I had come to accept it as the standard. I was unable to imagine that other carriers had different standards for customer care.

That said, I don't know if I can completely blame the customer care reps. When there's an environment of bad policy in place, you can't blame the reps for doing what they are told, nor should they be wholly blame...

I agree with you completely..cust always asking for free phones...I got a cust thursday ..who just got the mogul 6 mths ago and wanted to get a new phone with a discount..he says he will go to verizon if he doesn't get it...now I know sprint right now is about saving cust no matter what .but this particular cust calls in every 6mths to get a new phone with a discount...sorry I had to be the rep to tell him no...so he says he will call back to cancel...yea right ..he wants to get a rep that will give him the discount.
