Maybe they should have invested in growing existing markets rather than spending money in an unknown market. BUILD MORE TOWERS!
...
With this new market t-mo is adding 400 new towers by this fall in the south and now has coverage in st.thomas and st.john....
...
I like this. T-Mobile has some nice phones to offer! And since the south only has Sprint, Verizon, etc, this will birng great change with nice new handsets.
...
This is a good thing, it also places t-mobile on the door step of Alltel! (Altell who has been ripping off t-mos plans for years) Now it will put up or shut uptime.
...
Just an FYI:
T-Mobile is in fact building more towers in existing markets. They built 20 towers in Nov/Dec in just Phoenix, AZ alone.
Also Im sure the millions of people in the SE states are not "unknown" markets, now T-Mobile has the ability to provide service to those states at an acceptable level. Also they will be improving apon Suncoms structure, bringing it up to par to T-Mobile standards.
One last thing, building towers is NOT EASY. Getting rights to the zoning is insane, and to name a few; homeowner associations, buisness's, and city councils, constantly shut providers down. T-Mobile started in 2000 with almost nothing, Voicestream was not a big company. Verizon, at&t, Sprint all are just a crapload of companies merged toget...

That all makes sense. But where, or where is 3G from T-Mobile. If this helps you answer my ?, I live in Las Vegas. Money wise T-Mobile seems to be a bargain. Whereas the other 3 all have the same rate plans. At least T-Mobile throws in unlimited messaging with they're unlimited voice plan. whereas the other 3 only offer unlimited voice. So that's what I mean by bargain.
I've been with Cingular/At&T for 6 years. But I'm thinking about giving T-Mobile some consideration. I'm just waiting to see what they do with broadband internet once 3G/4G gets going.

Las Vegas will most likely see the summer launch of 3g. T-Mobile owns the most spectrum in the west at the moment. As of now most major cities are a flip of the switch, and the west should expect an exceptional 3g network from T-Mo.
And this is as official as its ever been, in corporate T-Mobile they have 5 annual objectives(Big-5), one of them for this year is the launch of 3g. Also just a tidbit, @home III is also in there.

the Suncom can fill up the black hole in Carolinas and PR
...
T-Mobile builds a couple thousand towers each year, they cost about $250K to $300K each, so you're complaining about what?
...
Wow each cell tower cost that much?!!? Where did you find out this information? As to how many cell towers T-Mo builds annually? I wonder how much longer before they finally get serious about 3G??? I live in Las Vegas, do you know if T-Mo is gonna make 3G available here BEFORE 2010???0

Amen! I had a stable bill when I was with them, but they just don't work where I moved to (Mesa, Arizona).
