A day late and a dollar short.
I have owned the 1st and 2nd generation iPhones as well as my current phone, a G1 and honestly, the pre doesn't stack up to ANY of them.
It kind of feels like every few months or so Sprint tries to unviel a new "iPhone killer" and it really is starting to get irritating. "the cell phone provider who called wolf"
The pre is a good phone. But for what it is trying to do, it just seems like too little, too late.

man i don't no what you talking about, you sound like you on that good stuff, have you actualy used the pre? i have and i no for a fact it smokes the g1, my buddies has one and hes always complaining about how slow it is. the pre has an advantage over the i phone cause it has a physical keyboard and you can multitask like a mother. face it the pre didn't disappoint, i thought it was how they where hyping it, but i was wrong its the real deal!!!
...
for one the g1 is to huge its like a brick...
...
haha, that is one problem the G1 has, I agree. the thing is freaking HUGE!
but in regards to comparing to the iPhone, the pre is late. waaaaay late.

What exactly is the Pre late on? It seems if anyone is late its Apple the new 3Gs is actually competition for the Pre.... the past Iphones there's no comparison. Clean sweep. I'm out like the Orlando Magic 😲 .

Agreed, the pre has started something new by adding the multi tasking as well as the synergy. The iPhone is always going to sell just because it is the iPhone, but for once it has some real competition.
...
You obviously have no sense of comparison, you are obviously just a bias fool. The pre is better than the iphone in almost every aspect.... and the g1 is like having a Ferrari with a Honda engine... its running on t-mobiles 3g laughable network. Not to mention your g1 is the same thing as the iphone then a phone attempting to compete with the iphone.

i will begin thise post by saying this:
the iPhone is a rad phone, i'd probably own a Bold if i was on AT&T, but it would be a tough call to make between that and the iPhone. with that said.... :
no one objectively comparing the Pre and the iPhone could say the iPhone is better. all the reviewers have been qualifying the Pre with statements like "they both have things they do better then the other at," ok... tell me, what does the iPhone do better? 2000 versions of iFart? people are so blinded by the Apple logo they've ignored the fact that the iPhone lacked *basic* smartphone features for all these years and was still supposedly the gold standard for which all phones must be compared.
the only thing smartphone companies have to compe...
