Access Releases Browser for Windows Mobile
Just downloaded it and WOW
In one word, this browser is POWERFUL. It does everything that Opera Mini does and more. When I click and drag my finger around to scroll around the page, it feels like I am moving around a piece of paper on a tabletop. The scroll transition and animation is very smooth. I will even say it scrolls better than scrolling around on Google Maps on the PPC. I've never been able to try the iPhone safari browser, so I can't personally compare. But this pretty much does everything I've seen the iphone browser do on the commercials. It supports simulated resolutions, zoom, display "profiles", multiple tabbed windows, and lots more. I would have to agree that the most impressive part of this browser is the scrolling. It really does have the "grab and throw" smooth scrolling like the iPhone. I downloaded the technology preview of this browser, and it was very disappointing. This is a completely different product. The speed is also very impressive. It's much faster than Pocket IE and Opera Mobile. I'm using an HTC Kaiser that's bogged down with Blackberry Connect (one of the worst applications I've come across, but unfortunately necessary if your company only supports BES), and this browser's performance doesn't flinch. Very well engineered. The zoom in/out is excellent as well. I tried bringing up some sites that have tricky layout, and it handled them perfectly...
