That is pretty much the case in any Class Action suit, the lawyers make the most money. The original filer(s) often make a decent chunk as well.

70 million people though? Not bloody likely. So far, all the Class Action status does is allow anyone who is/was a Verizon customer to take part in the case. The case still has to go to trial, win, and be awarded damages. After that, the individual claimants, of which there won't be anywhere near 70 million, as there are great deal of satisfied customers, still have to prove that they were wrongfully charged an early termination fee. Quite honestly, the 70 million number is just the lawyer slinging a bit of hyperbole.
