ok why would they get rid of the 5.0 and drop it to 2.0? that phone would be a hot seller if it had a camera that good. either the FCC is stupid for not allowing phones to have such great features like that or samsung is now being ran by the ex CEO of sprint.....

The 5.0 camera was probably dropped to make the phone more price friendly for the consumer.
Just a thought. But it sounds like a sweet ass phone to me with or with out a 5.0 camera.

According to the engadget link, the F490 that it was modeled after goes for $780 US. WOW 😲 So i think you are right on with why they did that...

how many 5 mp camera phones are out there for CDMA carriers? NONE!!! how many cameraphones are higher then 2mp? NONE!!!

don't you think that some people would pay a feww dollars more for a hi-res camera in their phone? and some may even move from other carriers or stay with sprint instead of switching. Do something to stop the bleeding... PLEASE.

these jackholes in OP, Kansas need to realize that it isn't just the network people want.

THEY USE THE PHONE! THEY WANT THE PHONE! customers cannot physically put their hands and look at a wireles network.

75% or more customers will get a network because of the phone(s) that are on the network. Where's Sprint's cool phones? What does sprint have to compete with the Voyager a...

I happen to agree with you, it seems Sprint is pretty PDA heavy when it comes to their phone lines, they are very dynamic when it comes to phones like the Mogul, Touch, Centro and BB's, but their regular phones seem just eh.

I use Sprint for one reason, and I am very satisfied with it, and that is with my USB SW broadband card.

Hey guys if you went to the FCC website to look this device up you would have noticed that it has been designed for Sprint new WiMax Network. Consider this a 5 mega pixel camera takes up alot of space and cost a lot more for a phone. so Samsung would probally need to make space for the device so it could use WiMax. I would rather have Faster Speed and better Connections than a better camera. Wouldn't You?

PS
Samsung is focusing on making faster Data phones for the United States. Thats why no one has seen many new phones from them for Sprint or Verizon. They are trying to get there new devices to be Rev A capable and WiMax capable. This is a smart decision especially since they are setting up the WiMax networks in Washington D.C. and New ...

ok, then how about a seperate version that has the better camera?

I'm not understading why Sprintis forsaking devices that 75% of the population will use this year (non WiMax areas) to hype the devices that most people won't be able to fully utilize for AT LEAST the next year if they ever even want to.

Actually, the FCC approval quite clearly shows that it is NOT a WiMAX device. There is nothing approved for the 2.5 GHz band - only 2.4 GHz for Bluetooth.

This does have EVDO Rev A, however, which does improve data rates, especially on the upload side.

Whatever eltoro. I agree with T-Zag...it was dropped to 2.0mp to make it more price friendly for the consumer. If you need 5+mp then buy a digital camera!
