Don't count on manufactures using it

Supposed "water damage" is how carriers get out of fixing or replacing your phone that you have been paying insurance on. Do you really think they want to eliminate their best out.

yea with this supposed new water/ weatherproofing method they would have to change the position of the LDI (liquid dmg indicator) to perhaps be inside the phn behind a display window instead of just on the very outer surface in the batt chamber or cavity!

Have you ever actually tried to see how long those things take to change? It takes more than a drop or few drops. The thing has to be saturated in water or long term very high humidity.

What is more widespead, however, are the people that get the phone wet but not on the indicators or where it is immediately obvious. Those are situations where you just know it's been wet and can't see it.
