Sprint Trials NFC In San Francisco Bay Area
So...
so let's say the trials run perfectly and Sprint decides to bring it out to the market... what happens when you loose your phone? not only do you loose your phone but the person who finds it can actually make purchases with YOUR phone from YOUR bank account.... with this new service is anyone going to care to ask for ID when making a purchase? Well, that's just another great way for thieves to become richer 😳 ..... just like credit/debit cards.... no wonder i hate those things so much....

Well...what would you do if you lost your debit card? You would call your bank and cancel and then order a new one correct?!?!? Well, in this case, you call both your wireless carrier, and your bank. Immediatley.

If it's anything like they showed on CES last year, you will have the option of entering a pin number into your phone before "swiping" it. Also, the account numbers should be encrypted and password/pin protected as well.

Yup that's right. Of course Sprint knows that the customers primary concern would be their account security. It will be reckless to say that someone would easily get access on your account and steal money from you. Remember that Sprint is running low on trust so a little bit of a problem or a breach on this new service will send Sprint back to stone age and Sprint will not allow that.

That makes sense, though it probably won't be until the end of '09 til I have an NFC enabled handset. I really, really hope this takes off with the national support of Wal Mart, 7-11, Pizza Hut, those are the most important places to support mobile payments!!!

and you can use it like a credit card to buy sodas out of a machine of a few select stores use it also.
