Anyone remember the EV1?
The thing was killed because it could only go 100 miles on a single charge, and it would take around 14 hours to charge it.
With these new battery's, it would go 1000 miles on a 14 hour charge? I think the fully electric car may live again!
That is, if the oil companies don't kill it off first, just like the EV1....

i love how people think oil companies are against alternative fuels. If every automobile in the world no longer ran on hydrocarbon based fuel, do you really think exploration and production would slow down one bit? I don't.

great point!
More things need oil than just consumer cars/trucks.

well well well, talk about inventions just to make an alternative to fuel heh. men 5 or six years ago there was already an inventor a filipino who was able to make a water powered engine fitted to a toyota car. that sent fuel cell techno back to stone age but the guy went missing and rumors spread that the guy sold it to the germans. men this inventions were great but no country would be stupid enough to promote these type of inventions unless you're prepared for world war.

You mean like power plants to generate the electricity to charge your car?

yeah, totally, there are thousands of crude oil burning power plants in the united states... but it accounts for less than 3% of power generation ;)
Most of it is coal, hydro, and natural gas.
