please believe that this will cause the price of ALL lithium battery operated devices, to jump up on price. with dwindling technology comes dwindling prices. this has proven true over the years. we went from the Zach Morris brick to the razor. rememeber how much star-tec's used to be? with this update in tec. prices will be effected. what they neeed to do is stop slacking and make a battery that can power any object that has a wall plug. that way, it'll be really usefull. as it seems now, this will just power celll phones for a bit longer than normal. and thats cool. but we could use that same technology applied across the board. imagine if AAA batteries lasted 4 days on continuos play in a mp3 player or something. the need for unreplaceabl...

"people may get it effed up in thinking that since they got 10x the juice, they dont need to charge as often"

Erm, not to be offensive, but isn't that the point with this?

yeah, but when you have that mindset, how many times you think someone will miss-judge it, and opt to not charge they're phones, and be left with a 1/4 battery for the rest of they're buisness work day?

Ok, let's think this through. The batteries will improve by a factor of tenfold. Let's say you've got a PDA phone like the Q that doesn't have the greatest battery life, so you get maybe a day out of the battery. This new battery increases the performance tenfold, so now you can get ten days of use. A quarter of a charge at the end of the day will still net you two and a half days of use.

I fail to see the problem here...

And as far as price is concerned, I wouldn't worry. The ...

i feel that. i have a Palm Centro, and with internet usage and certain applications, you can burn out ya battery in no time. i just think that with mind state our "oh so smart" customers have, ill guarantee that they play them sleves in a manner of, this battery is supposed to last for 10 days. i only charge my phone every 10 days. why is my battery die'n every 5-6 days? this will cause more stress on cust service reps and tech reps and store and kiosk reps. i hope it all pans out, but i just know its easy for dumb people to eff up great new inovative ideas and products and services.

oh yeah, i know they said 10x the normal usage, but i dont think that that means for 10 days. if they came out with a new battery that could keep you charg...

gettin laid keeps the mind off of your troubles...proven fact.

second, this will enable manufacturers to make phones smaller. Since a smaller battery can provide better juice, they can pack a bigger camera or more memory etc.

make sense?

Its not about better juice, most people dont need all that juice. Its about more stuff packed into the same small package.

i feel that. never really thought about it that way. but keep in mind that my base statement will still stand true. with this new technology, prices on future products will be affected. soon, the standard will be a 3.0 mega pixel cam with auto focus, zoom capabilities, and flash, full web browser that convert media files and allows you to play internet movies out the box, and a bunch of other stuff. i wanna see what this new technology will actually do. they need to speed up the process and get a move on, cuz i want one of these batteries
