Google Revises Maps Application, Includes Location Finder
BB Pearl works fine
I'm not sure how Google is implementing it software wise, but the large location ring could be due to the GSM network. In a GSM network, your phone "talks" to only one tower at a time. Therefore, you're limited to location generated off the cell sector and some basic time calcs for xmission.
In a CDMA network, your handset talks to several towers at a time, therefore giving a better chance at true triangulation.
That's IF Google is using this info to generate the location information.
I'd like to hear what experiences other users have had on GSM (ATT, TMobile) and CDMA (Verizon, Alltel, Sprint) networks.
