Sprint... What a poor exuse for wireless service. Other then internet, they dont have much. And they are the only carrier I see that when customers call to cancel they offer them free this and free that just to stay. I wonder why they have the biggest churn rate out of all the companies...?!?!?

Every company goes through a downside and the true testament of a company is when they come out of one. Yes, Sprint is hurting bad but everyone here has this thing with comparing it to the Titanic or some other sinking ship. If you've ever taken a business class in college you would learn that almost ALL companies go through this. Its the Make it or Break it concept. Apple went through the same issue for years. Before the Boom of the PC world, Apple was #2 having 47% or most computers being Mac (this was in the late 80's, early 90's if I remember) During the 90's up until a couple years ago, Apple was struggling as a company only holding 5-7% of the market. Now where is it, its raised into 30-40%. If Sprint can come out of this, they...

Actually, it went the other way. AT&T Wireless was a monument to bumbling ineptitude and shortsightedness in its final years. Things only reversed when Cingular bought them.

If you take a Sprint phone off the beaten path, it will simply roam on another CDMA carrier, if one is available.

Sprint-Nextel has way more combined native coverage than Verizon does, so I don't know what you are talking about.

So, you're saying that Sprint customers have unlimited intracarrier roaming in all Sprint signal areas? It seems that coverage is spotty, and I'm talking about all companies. Any place, including a back alley, lake side, or by a mountain in a Sprint market, you will be able to have unlimited roaming if the Sprint signal drops out for a few feet?

What I mean, is that I assume with that statement you are saying a Sprint does not restrict roaming on their customers handsets? Normally, carriers don't allow roaming in covered markets. Is Sprint an exception? If I find a dead sp...

You do realize that Sprint was forced to downsize it Spectrum because the interference that the goverment so call says that it was causing. When you are force to downsize your spectrum as much as they did obviously you are going to experience a drop in the coverage Hint: That is why we are moving to push out the Powersource Network to remove people off the iden for voice call only and keep it open for Push To Talk and keep all voice calls on the CDMA network which is getting a complete overhaul.

The history of this issue predates Sprints ownership of Nextel and has nothing to do with dimishing Sprints spectrum.
When Nextel built their company they chose to aquire low cost spectrum in a frequency band that was already cluttered (I believe it is somewhere in the 170 mHz area) in the hopes that technology advancements would allow them to operate without interference. Unfortunately that did not happen and the interfernece became more and more an issue.
Then Nextel executed what everyone thought was a spectrum coup when their lobbyists convinced the FCC to swap their less valuable cluttered spectrum for the more valuable spectrum at 800 mHz with the promise to vacate the old spectrum within a defined time frame.
It's at this point tha...

Good post. I believe though that if this was a well known issue then the FCC would not have allowed the merger to go though with NEXTEL.I do not blame the issue on Sprint but on the FCC. It was all but recently when the goverment started making changes to there agreement with Sprint/ Nextel that this was brought back to light. As for the issue with Sprints Service and Customer Service we all now that the CEO was fired for his failure to keep up with the competition aka Verizon and ATT and i believe the poorly trained customer service reps. Myself being a employee have hard times with them to.We are undergoing a severe overhaul of are Customer Service procedure and training. Look at where ATT was 3-4 years ago and look were they are at now. D...

What sprint need is more handsets from regular to iphone looking types; in that sense they need to steal a page from Verizon’s latest phone offerings; they may be the network with the most regulated UI but they do have selection galore of phones, I know plenty of friends that have come to them just because of their phone selection…some of them came from carriers that were cheaper…

In marketing you either have killer product so you can command whatever price you want or have mega advertising to make people believe you are top dog (Verizon and ATT respectively), Sprint got neither!!

i have also my own cell phone store its not very big but the additional $$ is good, i repair and modify phone... and well,

i think that CDMA is a tech that is doomed if it weren't for sprint that invest billion on it very Little money would go into that industry the world i turning to GSM/EDGE/WCDMA
CMDA phones are a joke i mean the are so easy to clone, and the data svc are so un flexible yes its fast but what good is if the hand set suck i have a 400 usd cdma handset i use bc other co workers use the radio svc and i have a 350 usd GSM hand set the cdma unit cant do half of what the CDMA can do
