What sprint need is more handsets from regular to iphone looking types; in that sense they need to steal a page from Verizon’s latest phone offerings; they may be the network with the most regulated UI but they do have selection galore of phones, I know plenty of friends that have come to them just because of their phone selection…some of them came from carriers that were cheaper…

In marketing you either have killer product so you can command whatever price you want or have mega advertising to make people believe you are top dog (Verizon and ATT respectively), Sprint got neither!!

I hope you are not talking about a better CDMA handset selection for iDEN customer transitions. CDMA handsets are light years ahead compared to any iDEN garbage available.

Its amazing how one killer app can keep this air interface alive.

Oh well, i hope PTT dies a horrible death....im sick of contractors wondering around yelling into these things, while some loud, annoying voice responds back on full volume.

I fail to see where Sprint's phone selection is poor.

If you want something like an iPhone, Sprint has the touch. If you want a phone for texting, there's the rumor. Other than a sidekick or a phone with a 3+ mp camera, I dont know where Sprint is lacking in handset selection.

Well, I'd like to see a non-smartphone with QWERTY and EVDO. I'd have been all over the Rumor if it had EVDO. Fortunately, I can text just fine with the Muziq.

It's unfortunate, but it seems Sprint just doesn't have the leverage Verizon has with the handset manufacturers. My brother enjoys his Samsung u740, but unfortunately, Sprint won't see that kind of solution in its lineup. From my perspective at least, Sprint does have a decent roster. It could be that Sprint's taking more quality than quantity approach (e.g., certain handsets like the M610 come and then quickly go), but as I've said, Verizon has so much clout that they'll get exclusive rights to the Voyagers and other "chic" handsets.
