New or old?

I am confused! What are these cellphones suppose to do? Aren't they suppose to do that? I don't need 32GB, 4.0 inch screen, stereo speakers, Alien Wi-fi, with a sleek OS, etc.. The most important part of a cellphone to me is "no dropped calls", excellent reception, and a loud enough speakerphone. These are the essential parts of a phone and it seems that cellphone manufactures are missing the point. The iphone is great but you have to be near your computer to keep it juiced up with content. That is crappy! I like my good ol sony ericsson that can connect to any computer and makes calls all the time. That is just my opinion, what's your? 🙂

I'm not sure what your point is. Is there some specific innovation around battery physics you were hoping for? That would be nice.

Most people have good coverage these days without dropped calls. If that's not the case with your carrier in your area, the answer is simply more towers, not any specific technology, although there are some minor advances in that technology as well.

In general, the basics are covered in this industry by now, so what's new to talk about at these shows are the more advanced features.

I was just ranting. 😉 I believe that better battery life is a key point since most feature enriched phones still have far too quickly depleting power. I am also wondering why Nokia for example still seems to have the same tired OS and media gallery. One of the new phones pictured on your site for Nokia has that same horrible media/picture gallery. Touch Wiz seems to be pretty cool but Samsung phones seem to be more compatible with PC's than Mac computers. I love the new features, but my question is; will one device finally be available where I will no longer need a laptop? Do you think the convergence of this all-in-one device is the cellphone? Also what is the next form factor of cellphones? It seems since the emergence of the ip...

it never stop to amaze me of people comment about technology in reference to the iphone. For your information all cellphones do look a like. The shape of the "iphone" is not the primary reference to all phones. you may not remember the HP compaq PC 3900 & 5900 serie, it has a rectangular shape so that you could hold it to your ear and your mouth, it's all about confort.

It is the primary shape for all cellphone, and guess what.. the HP Compaq was a touch screen and came out in the 90's before the "iphone" was born. The iphone doesn't have a copy right for a "shape" of a phone... come on now!!

The same goes for all cars, every car is structure the same way, may have different features, bottom line, they are all the same, 4 tires, se...
