Carriers unlocking phones
So Sprint is only doing the right thing because they were being sued, typical of them.
I'm not sure on the other carriers, but with T-Mobile they will unlock your phone after you've had 3 months of service with them. They also allow any unlocked phone on their network as well. AT&T does this as well, but i believe it's not until your contract is completely up. Having a SIM card helps with the ease of this process as well.

from what I gather I see only the state of California for those who've purchased Sprint phones through the time frame explained, and possible Florida.

nope. it's nation wide.
yeah, they've been sued into doing it, but hopefully all the carriers can be sued into doing it as well.
unlocked iPhone factory direct, here I come!

you really wanna use it that bad on t-mobile?

hint hint: t-mobile isn't the only network to use sim cards. think "edge wireless" in eastern idaho. That's where I wanna use it.
but I'll probably move to SLC before they get it.

well...... there are much better phones than the "eye phone" out there. its already on the best network that its compatible with. and even they aren't that good. to top it all off: edge! give me 3g or better.

Verizon better take notes. with sprint unlocking and providing service to unlocked compatible phones , That would make Verizon the only major carrier with locked down craptastic phones. And yes the phones Verizon has doesn't compare to what you get useing the world wide gsm network. This will open up a new market for North America for unlocked cdma based phones. Good move for sprint.

....yah...I'm pretty proud of Sprint. Proud they got sued into it. When will all this take affect?

I like the Samsung i760. Should I sue Verizon so that I can use the phone and all its features on another network?
