Korea, yes, some of them, although not much beyond voice calls will work (sometimes not even caller ID.)

Japan, no.

Do Korean phones even have the CDMA 1900 MHz that Sprint's network uses? I know they do have รƒยฌโ€ย โ€œ CDMA 1x and EV-D0 on the 800 MHz that VZW uses.

It seems to be addressed to the state of California, and possibly Florida in the future.

That's not fair to all the other states!!!

But anyway, if someone is a Sprint customer, then shame on them for supporting Sprint.

I think its a dumb idea from a business point of view. If you are allowing people to bring phones from other carriers then Sprint's phone sales will drop. Sprint is just F**** up all around. Geez. ๐Ÿ™„

why would that matter if you're still paying for the phones as a business? I may be misinformed, but don't phones cost, whereas a total commission sale is just that: total commission? I would LOVE and do love all customer-owned equipment sales, it AT LEAST doubles my profit on the sale.

Not to mention, this could become a BIG selling point for them. Think about folks who have Verizon, and want to switch to Sprint, but they have an expensive phone that could not be easily or cheaply replaced.

This would solve that dilemma. Not only would you keep your old phone number, but your old phone as well.

Except, as I pointed out in my response, there's actually nothing in the settlement that says Sprint's going to do this. The only mention of this in the agreement is that Sprint will better train its representatives on the policy, not that it will change that policy.

True. We'll have to wait and see what actually happens with this and what it will mean to the customers.
