Sprint has a limited period of exclusivity. I think there's a decent chance Verizon will get it some time after that period expires.

There are articles floating around the Net which have Palm officials saying the only other planned version of the Pre will be the GSM Euro World-Ready version. They specifically say "second version released in foreign regions", Sprint has the American version all to themselves.

Besides, Verizon blew it by going with the Storm which they call their "flagship device" and by their history of crippling devices and high service costs.

Sprint has a limited-time US exclusive. That implies that other US carriers will get it later.

The GSM version will work in other countries and be released in other countries, but that doesn't mean it won't come to US carriers, too.

Sprint Exclusive first release of the Pre, The Euro GSM version will more than likely be unlocked. If unlocked it will be able to run on ATT and TMO not 'Verizon'. However, it will probably only run Edge speed.

Here is an article which briefly mentions the World ready version:

Engadget released an article a few days ago which pretty much said the same thing:

Well, Palm has a good history on their gsm phones of being Quadband GSM and Triband (850/1800/1900) UMTS, so there is a good possibility at least for AT&T users of getting 3g.
