Not impressed with the Pre. No real WOW factor like the iphone plus it is on sprint. Nobody is leaving at&t or verizon for this phone.

My bet is this phone will be forgotten as quickly as the Instinct.

I've tried it. I think it has some real wow factor. The interface is very slick, and has some real innovative ideas.

Sprint has a temporary exclusive. Other carriers will have it soon after. (My guess is no more than six months.)

with the temporary exclusive is that coming from palm the reason I'm asking is other forums i have read stated that it would be release as a euro phone but not in the states you could buy it unlocked for a nice chunk of change sense your there i wouldn't mind if you could to shine sum light on the situation

This is a perfect choice Sprint has recently been rated to have the best 3G network and plans. If Verizon were to get this device it would have half the Ram no GPS or WiFi. Also, to my understanding Palm is not making an American GSM version however, there will be a World GSM version.

Availability and Pricing

Palm Pre is scheduled to be available first in the United States exclusively from Sprint in the first half of 2009, and will be followed by a world-ready UMTS version for other regions. Sprint's pricing for the phone has not yet been determined.

🤣 🤣 🤣 im laughing at everyone else because you dont get Sprint, which means you pay way too much for your plans get nothing!!

Sprint HAD (had being previously) the worst customer care previously along with service problems. In a recent study however, this shows otherwise:

"CIO Insight’s 2008 Vendor Value Survey substantiates our claims by placing Sprint as the No. 1 telecom company, and ranking Sprint No. 19 overall when considering other technology vendors, among 568 business technology executives polled. Results show that IT execs are clearly attracted to Sprint’s value proposition."

Sprint- 19 😁
VZW-25 😢
Qwest-31 😢
Tmobile- 34 😢
ATT- 37 😢

Yes and a good chunk of the customers that Verizon was supposeed to get with their Qwest and Alltel buyouts are frequenting my Sprint store.

Good things come to those who wait.

You're also not aware of all the customers Verizon is losing due to their outrageous prices for plans with nothing included and the customers that migrate over to AT&T for their iPhones only to return to us at Sprint because they're unsatisfied with not only the phone itself but also customer service... oh well everyone has their opinion... some are just wrong ones

I currently work for a wireless company that I will not mention and when I was looking for a phone and plan this is what I was looking for that I found in Sprint,

Someone who had service pretty much everywhere.
Good customer Care.
Cheap plans.
Great upgrade values.
A company that is constantly producing nice phones.

If you have any other company that sprint you are paying way to much for your service.

I have Sprint and had Verizon at the same time. I found that I had more lost calls on verizon than on Sprint. The web surfing was much faster on Sprint than on Verizon. A friend of mine had cingular / ATT and had several lost calls. Is Sprint perfect? Not by a long shot. But it has the better pricing, plans and data. I still needs to improve on customer care and phones.
