anything GSM-based?

So they make a new device for the slowly dieing cdma networks but no gsm/hsdpa equipment? If they do announce one what chance will it have AWS support? No tmo I bet since they haven't carried a palm since the treo 600 days.

if you remember correctly... sprint launched the centro and we all know how popular that launched at the time, then everyone wanted it. sprints gunna launch this one successful and i want one myself and im a blackberry addict

Yes, there will absolutely be a GSM/WCDMA version of the new Palm. It will come as soon as Sprint's exclusivity period ends.

It will be a GSM world version not a GSM version exclusive to a carrier in the US.

so if im not mistaking will sprints release version be able to be used as a world phone or would a customer have to get this phone then rent the world version from sprint for over seas travel

I believe the Sprint version will be strictly CDMA, I do know that certain Sprint phones can be used overseas on GSM providing you attach a GSM plan to your account. My guess is that Palm did not include a GSM radio due to the fact a person overseas can just purchase a CDMA version for much-much cheaper than a GSM world version.

the samsung ace the v555 by motorola the 8830bb v3razr gsm version only 3120 nokia 6630nokia e65 nokia also you can use the 881u sierra wireless sprint has gsm phones you can buy them out right from sprint or rent them they will only work on overseas networks though operates in Japan and everywhere Sprint offers GSM service

it would just suck to have a pre then have to get another pre to go outta country with

It does suck however, we still do not know if the Sprint version will have a GSM radio as well.
