80$ for a messaging phone? thats good compared to the expensive sidekicks and enVs out there. Lets hope this could at least be close to those beasts. Sprint might have themselves a winner
...
But compared to the EnV the Rumor is not EVDO, no music player, no card slot, etc. It is strictly a messaging phone. I would like to see a high end version of this some down the line.
...
The Rumor is not a smartphone, but a mid-range feature phone with Bluetooth, 1.3 Megapixel camera and MicroSD slot. It will be available in black or white for $80 with a two-year contract.
mp3/mem card slot ^
...
I love how people don't read but post a msg first... how lame
...
I missed the memory card slot portion. However from what I heard there was no music player on the phone. Maybe they just meant no Sprint music store and it has an MP3 player still. 😕
...
there is micro sd and a media player. just not evdo. all the songs have to be side loaded. pretty good if you ask me.
...
The Env is 79.99 at circuit city corp kiosk just in case you didn't know
...
The Rumor is I got wood when I saw this phone... 🤭
oh wait, it's no rumor, I DID get wood when I saw the Rumor!!!!!!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I think music players on phones are WAY over rated.
...
Wow thats sad.
It is a basic 1xrtt qwerty phone. Thats it. No thrils at all. plus the keyboard looks terrible. Very mashed together. The screen is in an awkward position to where you would be looking.
But have fun with that 🤣
...
What? I think its a neat device. It will be small and I like the way the keyboard slides out on the side...and how is the screen awkward?
...
I have to say that I would agree with you if I had not held the phone.
When I got my hands on it, it felt right. The keyboard is very well spaced, and the screem position actually makes sense. I think this is one you'll need to get hands on with before it makes sense.
By the way, besides EVDO, what is all the fuss about? This phone is fairly feature rich... 😕
...
BigHev does it again. 🤣 Rumors of wood and RIZRs aside, this phone could certainly use some more features, but for the target it is intended for, I think it's just right. Perhaps, like the other person was saying, they will have an updated version before too long to satisfy those that are looking for a more high-end phone.
...
You got "excited" over a phone??? 😲 🤣

Happened to sme when the M610 came out. Last year.
...
Sure did....can't wait.... 🤤 🤤 🤤
...
OMG!!!!! You guys are really critical....Its a phone and I can't wait to get. As long as it talks and texts, that's all I want. I been waiting on this phone for a long time. I'm getting excited. I wonder how much it will be with my upgrade, I'm sure its more than just $80. Current subscribers don't get the new customer discounts.... 😢 😢 😢

When they are eligable for full upgrades they do.
...
They do when you've had your phone for 22 months or longer... same with VZW ATT and TM
...
No with VZW it's 20 months now.
...
it is 22 months with vzw, and most other carriers
...
Sorry to burst your bubble but it is now 20 months to redeem your new every two, and primary lines on a family share or single lines with monthly access above 49.99 qualify for 2 year pricing after 12 months. Oh yeah and this phone is a cheap EnV knockoff. Why not just wait for the Voyager?
...
I agree with you detroitdiva. Ppl need to remember that this is not a high end device so its not going to have everything. It has everything I need. Im not currently a Sprint customer so I will get the new customer discounts when I switch. 😁
...
Yeah....current subscribers usually get upgrade dsicounts depending on how long they have been with their current phone. But its still not as good as the discounts the new customer gets...at least in my experience.
...
Well when I had Sprint, I had been a car accident and my phone was destroyed. I think at the time I had the Sanyo 8200. I had had that phone for a year. Well, when I went to purchase another phone they told me I could $75 off a new phone. Do they still do that?
...
T-ZagOct 11, 2007, 4:48 PM
Yes they do and after 22 months you get the new customer price again. Most of the time.
...
I agree...$80 is pretty good. Im switching back to Sprint at the end of the year and I may go with this device. It looks like it will be much easier to text with this device. The keyboard on the Centro is way too small.
...
who were you with before you decided to come back?
...
TMO. I've had Sprint b4. I miss the unl calling after 7p and data plans. Sprint Picture Mail is the best.
...
