Google is king.

Not only will they make a butt ton of money off of advertising (not at first), but they will dethrone MS as king of the OS.

I think you have it wrong and right at the same time guys. Its not going to be Google that does it but Linux. When Ubuntu reaches it's 10-12 distribution, it will be easier for the common user to use. As far as phones go, I refuse to have one with an OS that sends advertisements at me every time I do something. So please, just give me a linux based OS without the ads.

Several of the new Motorola phones use Linux (eg the GSM version of the RAZR2). Also the Motorola A1200 does. And there is always the OpenMoko, which you can now install QTopia on now. And if you are a developer (or have a lot to spend on a phone) you can always get a Trolltech Greenphone.
As far as Ubuntu, my personal preferance falls to Mandriva and SuSE. IMHO they are much more polished and already much easier for the common user.
