non-touch screen, navigated by using the D-pad key on the center of the device...

It absolutely IS a touch screen device. Navigation is with the D-pad, stylus, or your thumb.

whoops, found the palm.com/centro site with its specs...

Display: 320x320 pixel Transflective color touchscreen,
supports 16-bit color (up to 65K colors)

much better, now am looking to upgrade this blasted yet reliable Sanyo VI-2300. 🤭
