Nokia Will Use Intel WiMax Chips
This is cool and all but...
it runs VISTA (though it uses AT&T's egde network) and you can get more work done with with a fully handheld PC than you can with an internet tablet

YEa, if you data alot, do not go with ATT cuz WiMAX will be faster than even their g4 network.
You are talking out of your butt. Which means, you dont know what you are talking about.
I see LTE as a much better 4G solution than WiMax and even AT&T is going to be deploying WiMax in some markets.
Another thing I don't like about LTE is their actual to hypothetical speeds. WiMAX's tests have shown that the actual speed almost matches the hypothetical whereas LTE is far off at the current moment. This is why you see countries like Japan considering switching networks to CDMA technology but in the same step keep the GSM and have quad band phones.
CDMA Towers cover 3km
HSPA Towers cover 2.5km
WiMax Towers cover 1.0km (some say it won't even do that)
They didn't state how bad GSM was but it can't be as bad as WiMax
Second of all, LTE has been demonstrated at 144 Mbps while WiMax hasn't even come close yet.

Obviously you're Mr. Perfect and never make a mistake. Let me apologize for my rude misspelled statement and let you know that I just typed it wrong. I do know what 4g stands for and have been in the cellular world for quite some time. Yes, LTE was demonstrated at doing 144 Mbps whereas WiMAX has show 72 Mbps. When EV-D0 came out, its first tests showed 3 Mbps but when used, you only got around 900 Kbps. WiMAX when created was tested at 75 Mbps and network test has it at 72 Mbps. Lets see where LTE goes when it comes out and since LTE won't be out till late 2009 or early 2010, WiMAX should only be compared to HSPA. Just like WiFi and EV-D0 and every other date connection made by man, WiMAX will come ou
