If you can tell the difference between a 65K and 262K screen in normal usage (i.e. not a test pattern) then you have better eyes then me, and I stare at phone screens for a living. If your wallpaper is something like a sunset with very gradual gradient, then it might be noticeable when you look closely, but it's really not the issue most people make it out to be.

What's MUCH more important IMO is the screen resolution.

Just as important is that every single day there are advances in LCD quality that make them look even better - in important areas like contrast ratio and viewing angle that are so much more important in real-world usage than # of colors.

The fact is, by specs, the LX may have the best screen in a US mobile phone to da...

Well,
I have a Inferno type wallpaper and did notice the difference between my chocolate and my razr and some VERY small differences here and there

I love Sharp LCDs and just now read that the lx screen is an Aquos which i didnt know at the time of my first post.

This changes my perspective quite a bit and now see that it just may be one of the best screens out in the U.S next to the iphone. I also want to see that 3 inch beauty in person tho. I now see the where the 100$ comes in. But besides the screen and the camera flash what else is different

Flashing lights in places other than the trackball

3-inch screen (a whole inch bigger, and already 1230984035 times better than the SK3)

Included MircoSD (not that big, but still...)

Flashing camera

Swivel > Slide. It IS a Sidekick.

To me, not worth an extra 100, but I'd definitely spend an extra 50. Actually, I'd probably spend the 100 on the screen alone .. you can see vast improvement over the SK3 by just looking at the picture provided :p

Samsung uses their own displays in their phones too, and they are the largest LCD manufacture on the planet. How exactly is a 16-bit 400x240 display better than the 24-bit 480x320 Samsung unit used in the iPhone? Because it says Aquos on it? Maybe Samsung should start selling "bordeaux" equipped phones 😉
