I think it is a good investment, although if you are willing to invest right now when the stock becomes public (VM is the ticker), I think it is best to wait. Revenue and profits look good. In 2006, it said they had $36m in net loss with $1.1 billion. During the 6 months currently, it said that they had profits of $26.5m with revenue over $667 million. As a result, if they continue to same way they should have profits of about $53m with revenue $1.33B. Therefore, they are showing some signs of improvement on both the profit and revenue side from a year ago. It is, I believe, the only pure play wireless prepaid company to be public, so that allows a premium to its shares. It does have pretty good rivals with Boost and other companies like AT&...

I guess I am retired but not really. I have my own businesses. One has to deal with the stock market and investments for clients. Therefore, this is fun for me especially since I like numbers and valuations.

I don’t have a lot of time but I figure if I can help, I figure why not. Since I own my own businesses, I can do whatever I want when I want. I sound like an American Express commercial when I just said that. 🤣

Sound advice. Do you have any other metrics (ARPU, etc.) on VM worth noting as well? Also, considering its customer base at around 5 million, how does it perform against other prepaid serivces like Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, and the like?

Virgin Mobile has around 4.85 million customers. Boost has 4 million. PCS has 3.5 million and not sure about Cricket. It performs ok against those competitors but Boost has a higher ARPU and lower churn than all of the companies. I believe Virgin is 2nd to Boost on those metrics. Boost’s ARPU is around $35.

good analysis, but you missed one item.
what are the average FPE's for the mobile industry as a whole and prepaid section?

Those are better gauges as to an investments strength.

and as far as Muchdrama's opinion on n18's ananlysis, mathematical comparisons don't lie. it's peoples' opinions and predictions of those numbers and their future value that differ.

The FPE of Virgin Mobile WI (When Issued) if the numbers will hold is around 8.8 that makes the stock cheap and a discount to the whole market itself. Getting more focused in the industry, the FPE is 12. Therefore, it is cheaper on the overall market and industry. Thus; making it a good investment on the valuation call. Next they have to look whether it is worth their investment appetite and risk. In addition, balance sheet helps. Typically you want to know what the industry is doing when it comes to FPEs but not many companies are cheaper than the overall market itself.

For the Love of God, people...Nextel18 is NOT a Wall Street guru!

Please don't base your investment plans on his advice!

Well, I certainly won't pretend to be an investment guru, I'll tell you that much.
