can i get some hsDpa?
I'm here in Denver, CO and we are still using edge!! Is Denver not big enough of a city to get 3G?
...
Its not the size of the city that is the deciding factor, it also deals with is the question "is denver a profitable city to have 3g?"
...
there's also the question can we spare 5 MHz of Spectrum?

I think that's the primary issue.. 5MHz paired is the minimum required for UMTS/WCDMA. Carrier channels are huge.

You might not have HSDPA but you will have Wimax.
...
Funny how both Sprint and Verizon have 3g in Denver but At&t doesnt see it fit to even try.

cuzz denver is full of HICKS!!! 🤣
just jokin, AT&T doesnt know what its missin out on!!
...
I think it has to do more with the amount of spectrum to offer the service with a good level of quality. You probably will not see 3g until they ditch analog in Feb.
...
Yea, that is strange. Maybe they do not see an opportunity there. I been to Denver many times and if I was a carrier I would go there. Perhaps the mountains hurt a bit but as you mentioned those carriers are doing a pretty good job. There are many towers there so capex is obviously going to go up.

EV-DO = 1.25 MHz of extra Spectrum
UMTS/HSDPA = 10 MHz of extra Spectrum
