This treo 6850 reminds me of the notice about using a data cable on their service, for a tethered connection. Cause rumor has it Vision users, who pay $15 a month extra on top of the phone plan, get unlimited access without it killing the minutes.

Now imagine it untethered with bluetooth.

Uh-oh.

I love the CDMA networks with all my heart but the proprietaty bs has to stop soon.

Huh? What you're talking about has nothing to do with Sprint or CDMA carriers.

The going rate for unlimited high-speed data on your laptop is $80/month. T-Mobile is the only top-tier carrier who offers laptop access for less, and they're also the one with speeds 1/2 to 1/3 of what you get with the others, since they don't have EDGE yet.

Data on just your phone (ringtones, WAP, etc.) is a whole different ballgame. That's what the $10 - $25 / month data plans are about, like Sprint's $15 plan you mentioned. But that's not designed to be used with a laptop. If it was, it would be $80. Simple as that.

The Sprint people who use a third-party data cable to get laptop access for $15/month are technically violating Sprint's Terms of Service...
