$15 individual or $30 for family.

So... if I need to pay this fee... does that mean that only my phones are allowed on my Airave network? If my friend comes over, his phone won't be able to use it?

Correct.

It would work by sprint setting it up to only allow phones with pre-set esn's to connect. You phone may see the signal but will not connect due to authentication error.
