No problem. You do your thang over there and I hope you stay safe. Keep in mind when you look over the messages, that the opportunity is great with the merger, but execution is key. That 14 million extra pops helps and economically wise if T-mobile can convert those users to upkeep their spending on the ARPU side then they will seek that $1B they spent easily. Having roaming deals are key so they probably thought it would be less expensive to buy them out instead of continuing the roaming deals. I have to disagree with that theory. No way it would be $1b in roaming fees.

Having worked for T-Mobile in the Milwaukee/Chicago at launch w/Voicestream and now living in the Tricities, TN. T-Mobile rocks all over the place. We are all gaga over the purchase. SunCom is a good provider here and in the Carolinas. A great network to compliment TMobiles. I am an agent for them - does anyone know if they have spectrum in Greeneville, TN and Knoxville, TN, these two area would compliment us well.

A good provider? I don’t know what sources you are looking at but they are horrible. They only have 1 million customers. I can continue but you already know what I said about this Suncom. I just felt that T-mobile could have done better.

How can Suncom be an excellent provider? They are horrible on the operational and financial aspects. They only have 1 million subscribers. During one time they actually lost subscribers. They claimed bankruptcy. Shareholders and stakeholders hate them and ask the bondholders to restructure the company.

Given the great success of T-mobile and DT family I wouldn’t expect them to buy a company like Suncom. Based on the assets alone , they are definitely worth the purchase.

Operationally and financially, however, they are performing horribly. Just like Alltel and their claim with the largest network. Well, that may be the case, but if they can’t get users onto the network what makes a difference how big your network truly is if you can’t maximize efficiency and it is costing a lot of money since the less spectrum you use. I think since T-mobile likes to cater to prepaid and to low cost products and services, not as of late as much though, they should look at PCS and/or Leap especially since now Leap says that PCS’ offer...

you of all people should know its easier to fix operations given how great tmobile is in it. Then it is to pay to change a cdma network to GSM. I don't get your hang up with the financial s. Tmobile will fix it and it will mean nothing in the long run.

Alltel is doing fine. They are in 34 states with about 15 to 20 mill. Most of their network is rural so of course they will have less people. But they make allot off roaming as they are the only large cdma carrier with a network in rural areas.

I am not saying to actually change the CDMA network but use those existing frequencies and towers to your advantage. Sort of like what Sprint and Nextel are doing with co-locating.

Also, you can fine tune spectrum depending on what the frequency and band is into other types. Financials and operations are critical in this industry so obviously I am hung up over it.

Alltel isn’t doing well based on their claims for the largest network. They aren’t using that spectrum and towers efficiently. Same with Suncom.

alltel built out were they can. And all the people that live in the country love alltel. Why because they are their only choice. Its largest per square miles not population that it covers.

i know, but even then, they aren’t using their network and spectrum to the ultimate that they can. I do not really like Alltel but perhaps Goldman can fix them. Not sure if they are a true asset to anyone in this country.

I give it to nextel18, he seems to look at all angles, which most industry execs don't seem to. The industry, right now, seems to go off of relative success, not real success. What I mean by that is they are more concerned over how they do in comparison to the other providers, and not how they are doing as a money making company.

So, by your logic, the number of subscribers is directly related to quality of network.

Yeah, that's brilliant.
