I like the looks of this as well. The only two glaring downsides (in my opinion of course) is the lask of any type of physical keyboard, and the stylus being a pen-type object that does not store in/on the device.

i have a similar stylus with my dare (the stylus for the lg glimmer) and its not as bad as you think. i dont really mind it hanging there. and with the mouse option, i dont really see a need for it

(i have it on my dare for drawing on pic, and clicking links on the web)

In my few days with it, I found the optical mouse did a good job replacing the stylus. In fact, I never used the stylus more than once - just to try it - and didn't miss it after that.

I also found the keyboards to be decent. It has XT9 for auto-correcting typing mistakes, which helps. It is extremely flexible - as I tried to show in the video - with three Samsung keyboard options (plus standard Windows ones) that you can use in either portrait or landscape. Pair that with adjustable haptic feedback, and I think most people will find at least one configuration they like.

Is there a review of this coming out soon? I loved the video you posted, it was more informative than a lot of other 'reviews' I found out there...one of the strengths of PhoneScoop!!!!

Hi Rich:

I just watched your review, which was well done. I have a few questions: 1. How does it ocmpare to the IPhone 3G as a media player, musice player and mos importantly as a web browser. I understand that you might not have played with an IPhone 3G.

I was just about to order the Storm, but it seems like this is the better phone for the money. Which do you like better? This or the Storm? I won't get an IPhone 3G, because I refuse to leave VZW for ATT. Any thought?

Thank You!

Chris

I only spent enough time with it to put together the video tour you saw. I intentionally didn't call it a "review", because I haven't had enough time with the Omnia to form a full opinion, and I don't have it now.

I can speak to a couple of points, though:

First, the browser is good. It's the exact same Opera browser as on the Touch Diamond, which I would consider to be the closest any company has come to the iPhone's browser to date. It's not perfect, but it's better than most. I probably prefer it to the Storm's browser, but the Storm's browser is good enough that I'm sure some people would prefer that one.

The Omnia is a great size. Huge screen, but still relatively thin. On paper, the Storm is only slightly thicker, but in perso...

Thanks Rich.

The ultimate question is: The Omnia or Storm? Which would you choose? Just in case you are wondering, I will use the phone for (besides as a phone of course):

1. Web surfing
2. Video Player
3. Music player
4. Text Messaging

Also, I will not be using the phone for business reasons, only personal use.

Thanks Again!

I can't answer that kind of question. If one were a real stinker, I would tell you to avoid it, but that's not the case. They are both impressive phones.

I can tell you what I like and don't like about each, but which is actually best for you depends on myriad personal factors.
