thats what they tell you and if there was a law that states they can only use if for emergencies like when you call 911 that would be a start. But there is none and they can use it to track you if they are say just investigating you. Its not a wiretap its just a leash which there is currently no law against.

e911 is a blessing more than a curse, i think its a good idea for safety officials and ambulances in case of an emergency to know where you are at when ur in a situation that you cannot talk or give a location. but.... like every new thing that comes out, it has to be some moral panic to it and it has to be a "threat" to "civil liberties" which we really dont have in the first place, and the gov't could locate you before the e911 mandate, so what! and blame(for a perceived loss of civil liberties) can go to people who have voted for a gov't (white house, bush) who puts precedence on security over freedom yet they are the ones bitching about less freedom, well you wanted more security, enjoy it thats what you want right? if you want one thing...

I'm not sure what you mean by us not having civil liberties. I was being a conspiracist, I know, but I hardly want the government to protect me by watching everyone. I want the government to uphold my civil liberties!
