Big turn out for the Storm

most of the people buying them, however, did NOT look like the type of people who can afford the $80.00/month.
The iPhone makes a good case for a touch UI, the Storm definitely doesn't.
go to bgr, there were lines at just about all the major corporate stores.
now, before everyone startes hatin,i never said the phone didnt have flaws, but there were def lines, sone 100 deep
the phone sold out at nearly every corporate store in under an hour and orders placed over the phone are not going to ship until 12/5. and there was ALOT on stock.
your picture/store there not withstanding, im sure sales were strong.
If that isnt a strong showing on opening day i dont know what is

I know in my area the main verizon store sold about 90 storms in 5 hrs and the smaller store down the road sold all of their 40 storms in under 2 hrs.

120 iphones in 4 hours maybe? That was my store.
And the MMS rates for the Storm are absurd.
10 for 500 unlimited verizon
20 for unlimited..
Yeah, that is what Iphone customers are paying for as well... oh wait, that is text only even though it is a text, pix, and flix
As far as the iPhone not having pix messaging, it's super simple to send a pic using email, even phone to phone, as all phones have email addresses. So technically, it does have picture messaging.
On topic, I played with a Storm today. The first display model was pretty crappy, the second one I was highly impressed with. I ordered one as they were sold out and will use the 30 days to try it out. Vzw just did away with their restocking fee which was crap. Unfortunately, ATT still has theirs.
The iPhone is cooler adn has a better UI, but the ATT coverage isn't all that compared...

But the Storm is no iphone killer and is really no big improvement for BB phones. The biggest selling point is the touch screen and it stinks. It should be called a push screen not a touch screen.
BB need to go back to the drawing board. The amount of work it takes to use the screen defeats the whole purpose of having a touch screen. I see no reason to by this phone over a BB Bold or even a Curve. 😎
